The Hawkins Hevibase Pressure Cooker is made of commercially pure virgin aluminium and is induction compatible. Compatible with an external bottom plate of magnetic stainless steel AISI 430 attached to the double thick foundation. It is safe to use on any gas, electric, halogen, ceramic, and induction cooktops in the home. The heavy gauge, double-thick base is suitable for mild frying before pressure cooking. The base is always flat and never bulges. Gas, electric, ceramic, and halogen cooktops are all compatible. The Hawkins Ekobase was a variation of this type with a fully hard anodized double thick base. This was appropriate for home gas, electric, halogen, and ceramic cooktops but not induction cooktops. In some markets, this product is no longer available.
